چکیده
Abstract Aim The Inguinal Hernia Application (IHAPP) is designed to overcome current limitations of regular follow-up after inguinal hernia surgery. It has two goals: Minimizing unnecessary healthcare consumption by supplying patient information and facilitating registration reported outcome measures (PROMs) offering simple questionnaires. In this study we evaluated the usability validity app. Material & Methods prospective cohort patients (>=18 years) scheduled for elective repair were assessed eligibility. Feasibility app was measuring satisfaction about utilization. Validity (internal consistency convergent validity) tested comparing answers in scores standardized EuraHS-Quality Life instrument. Furthermore, test-retest reliability analyzed correlating obtained at 6 weeks outcomes 44 days (6 2 days). Results During a 3-month period, total 100 included. Median age 56 years 98% male. Most respondents (68%) valued application as supplementary tool their treatment. pre-operative useful 77% regarded user-friendly 71%. Patient adherence mediocre, 47% completed all questionnaires during follow-up. Reliability considered excellent (α > 0.90) significant (p = 0.01). same applies Conclusions IHAPP reliable data serves platform. However, further improvements are necessary increase compliance recording PROMs.

investigating the feasibility of a proposed model for geometric design of deployable arch structures
deployable scissor type structures are composed of the so-called scissor-like elements (sles), which are connected to each other at an intermediate point through a pivotal connection and allow them to be folded into a compact bundle for storage or transport. several sles are connected to each other in order to form units with regular polygonal plan views. the sides and radii of the polygons are...
Meshless treatment of open inguinal hernia repair: a prospective study
OBJECTIVE To evaluate two types of meshless open inguinal repair and to evaluate the recurrence rate. METHODS We operated on sequentially 98 men and 15 women with 144 unilateral or bilateral inguinal hernias between December 1988 and April 2007. The surgeries were performed by two experienced surgeons and divided into two groups: Bassini or McVay reconstructive surgery techniques. Bassini typ...

BACKGROUND We developed a patient-centered, smartphone-based, diabetes care system (PSDCS). This study aims to test the feasibility of glycosylated hemoglobin (HbA1c) reduction with the PSDCS. METHODS This study was a single-arm pilot study. The participants with type 2 diabetes mellitus were instructed to use the PSDCS, which integrates a Bluetooth-connected glucometer, digital food diary, a...
متن کاملInter-professional delirium education and care: a qualitative feasibility study of implementing a delirium Smartphone application
BACKGROUND Delirium is a common medical condition with a high prevalence in hospital settings. Effective delirium management requires a multi-component intervention, including the use of Interprofessional teams and evidence-based interventions at the point of care. One vehicle for increasing access of delirium practice tools at the point of care is E-health. There has been a paucity of studies ...
